FlickrVault 1.2.0: UI in seven languages
FlickrVault 1.2.0 is here. The Mac and Windows desktop app that backs up Flickr to your computer now speaks seven languages in the UI, with bilingual backup reports so you can follow each run in the language you prefer.
What FlickrVault does
FlickrVault downloads Flickr photos to your machine: originals, albums as folders, and a FlickrVault-metadata.json file in each folder (titles, descriptions, tags, dates, license, owner, and full EXIF). File dates match the date taken. When Flickr stripped EXIF, FlickrVault writes it back. File names use Flickr titles.
Backup modes cover your own account (including private photos), other people’s public photos, albums, and favorites, plus search.
Privacy stays simple: photos go Flickr→disk directly. Your token lives in the OS keychain. FlickrVault never stores your photos or passwords on our servers.
Platforms and pricing
- macOS 12+ on Apple silicon
- Windows 10/11 64-bit — installer, portable zip, and Microsoft Store (listed as Photo Vault; 1.2.0 Store update coming soon — use the website download for now)

Why seven languages
Flickr’s own UI already offers French, Spanish, Italian, and Traditional Chinese alongside English and others. FlickrVault 1.2.0 aligns the app UI with that reality—so FR, ES, IT, and zh-TW users get a native-feeling backup workflow, not just an English chrome over a local disk.
