This Refund Policy explains how refunds work for purchases of FlickrVault credits. It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service. Terms used here have the same meaning as in the Terms of Service. It is offered by Modest Foundry (“FlickrVault”, “we”, “us”).
1. What you are buying
FlickrVault is pay-as-you-go. You buy one-time credit packs (for example 1,000, 5,000, or 15,000 credits); backing up one original photo costs one credit. There is no subscription and purchased credits do not expire. The 1,000 free credits granted once per Flickr account are for backing up that same Flickr account, are not a purchase, and are not covered by this policy. Downloads of other people’s public photos and Flickr search downloads require purchased credits.
2. Who processes payments and refunds
Payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record for your purchase and handles billing and applicable taxes. Refunds are issued by Paddle back to your original payment method. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle’s Buyer Terms.
3. 14-day refund for unused credits
Credits are digital goods delivered to your account immediately after purchase. Your account may show a single credit balance, but for refund and accounting purposes we track credits by source: free allowance and each paid credit pack.
For backups of your own Flickr account, your free allowance is consumed first. Downloads of other people’s public photos and Flickr search downloads consume purchased credits. Paid credits are consumed in the order they were purchased, from oldest to newest.
We offer a full refund within 14 days of purchase only if none of the credits allocated to that paid credit pack have been consumed under this order. Once any credit from a paid credit pack has been used, that pack is non-refundable, and we do not provide partial refunds for the unused portion of that pack, except where required by law.
When a refund is approved, the corresponding credits are removed from your FlickrVault balance. Refunds are only available where the corresponding credits can be removed without creating a negative credit balance.
Your free allowance itself is never refundable — only paid credit packs can be refunded. (We may still help in the situations in §4.)
4. Always refundable: faulty, duplicate, or unauthorized charges
Regardless of the 14-day window, contact us if:
- you were charged more than once for the same purchase;
- you were charged in error or without authorization; or
- a technical fault on our side meant the credits were never delivered to your account.
We will investigate and, where appropriate, refund in full.
5. Your statutory rights (EU / UK and other consumer laws)
For digital content, consumer law in some regions (including the EU and UK) gives you a 14-day right of withdrawal. By purchasing credits and choosing to use them immediately, you expressly consent to immediate delivery and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once you begin using the credits. Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory statutory rights you have under the consumer-protection laws of your country of residence.
6. How to request a refund
Email [email protected] with:
- the email address used for the purchase, and
- your Paddle order or receipt number (it’s on the receipt Paddle emailed you).
You may also request a refund directly through Paddle using the link on that receipt. Refunds are reviewed and processed by Paddle. Once approved, the money is returned to your original payment method — typically 3–5 business days for cards, or about 48 hours for PayPal (your bank may take a little longer to post it).
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version here with a new “Last updated” date. The policy that applied at the time of your purchase governs that purchase.
