Backups now make fewer requests to Flickr for every photo. Large libraries finish sooner, and the app stays comfortably inside Flickr’s per-hour request limits. Nothing changes about what lands on your disk.
- Backing up your own photos asks Flickr about each photo one time less than before; backing up other people’s photos, two times less.
- EXIF is read straight from the downloaded file when it already carries it, which originals usually do. Flickr’s copy is only fetched when the file has none, and is then written into the file exactly as before.
- Photos that were already on disk get their EXIF recorded in the folder’s
FlickrVault-metadata.jsonon the next run, without downloading anything. - The metadata file now notes where each photo’s EXIF came from (
exifSource:fileorflickr).
Update by opening FlickrVault — it offers 1.1.3 automatically — or grab it from the download page.
